KEL LITERARY SOCIETY

Let’s analyze a new dystopia

In our next lecture we will discuss To Paradise, a sublime literary dystopia that presents three short novels, widely spaced in time (from 1893 to 2093), and set in New York and Hawaii.

Characters throughout the three stories, most of them distant family-relations, are impacted by the social and political circumstances of world history: it will be a nice challenge for us to sort fact from fiction.

American author Hanya Yanagihara lays out the landscape of the human heart; as it navigates complex love relationships, and the certainty of death, in a world damaged by pandemics. Let us take a look at it together!.
